Day 10

Today was "House Day", a very exciting day full of activities and competitions for the entire school. The students are dressed in the colours of their house, so I thought it would be a good idea to review colours and to introduce the word "maison". (I realized after that "Quelle couleur est la maison Cartier" is not correct. I should have been asking "De quelle couleur.....). Oh well!

Sometimes starting class like this in the hallway can be a real challenge, especially if the hallway is busy, like today!

Day 10 First 10 minutes in class

At the end of this video I review the question words, but the camera was not on me, so I did it again here, with no students:

  1. Hi Sylvia, I have a chart like yours. Good to know that I am on the right track. I need to review more often however. Thanks for letting redoing that portion of the video. I understand letting up on the videos. It must be very time consuming. You are a great teacher. I look forward to your lesson.

  2. Thanks Elaine. Yes, filming, editing and uploading the videos is time very consuming but I stopped doing it every day bcz I think that seeing the students' progress every 5 days will be just as informative. I wanted to film every day at first so that teachers can see the routines that were established.

  3. I agree with you. Just want to let you know that I feel like I am improving my lessons because of watching you teach. I have even added things to my grade 8 classes who do not take AIM. They seem to like it. At this point AIM is in our school from 4 to 6. Our current 5's are the only ones with 8 months of AIM under their belts. The 5's and the 5/6's are good. The straight 6's are somewhat slower, and that's to be expected. We are all going to start on LCLL next week. I am trying to teach the possessive adjectives right now and I would love to see a lesson on that if you get the chance. Thanks again and I will tune in on Tuesday the 6th.

  8. Sylvia I got it:mon, ma mes....Don't know what I did wrong but I finally got it. It is a bit grueling as a lesson goes, but one eventually gets there. It is something to review de temps en temps. We have worked on body parts, so I will start there as you did. Thanks for the lesson.. Love the hand sanitizer boy. Can you have the sanitizer moved? You are very patient with them.
